PROGRAM NOTES
Dr. Gary D. Cannon has written program notes for several choral organizations, most extensively for Choral Arts Northwest and Cascadian Chorale. His notes are acclaimed for their musicological detail, editorial finesse, and relaxed tone. They are equally approachable both to the musically trained and untrained, introducing and explaining musical terminology in a non-threatening manner while also including engaging and unusual tidbits. He aims particularly to place the composition and composer into an historical perspective, and to guide listeners through the concert experience. Some audience members have proclaimed that the notes alone are worth the concert ticket price.
Dr. Cannon is available to write program notes for hire. For more information about rates and policies, see here.
